Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Nov 09, 2014 1:55 pm Hi all, We're currently trying to agree on a new fence for a boundary with our neighbour. Everybody is on the same page as to the style of fencing - 1.8m timber fence with spaced palings (straight/flat top). However, we both want the "palings" on our side (i.e. neither of us wants to see the vertical timber posts and horizontal timber rails/railings). We're not a fan of either the "lapped and capped" style or the "good neighbour" style of fencing. Does anyone know of a style of timber fence which is essentially the standard spaced paling fence, but where the side with the posts and rails also has spaced palings over the top of the posts and rails (or at least over the top of the rails, but in-between the posts). And, if so, is there a name for this style of fencing? Thank you for any assistance. Building Standards; Getting It Right!
