Hi,
We've got quite a few clay bricks left over from when our house was built. I thought a good way to use them would be to build a raised garden bed, so the only expense I'd have is the concrete for the foundation.
Our landscaper suggested not to use the bricks as the moisture will seep through and stain the bricks on the outside. When building with lime stone they paint a layer of tar on the inside but that wouldn't work for the clay bricks because of the joints, they're too big.
Is there any other effective way to create a moisture barrier to prevent straining? Or should we just not bother with the bricks and go for something else?
Cheers,
Tom
