I am thinking of utilizing the side of our house (dead space) and turning it into a vertical vegie garden. It would have a raised bed at the bottom for root vegies and a vine type tressle running up the fence for vine veggies like tomatoes and cucumber etc. I am also thinking of getting some old gutters or a pallet or something to create a proper vertical garden for herbs, leafy vegies and all the other ones that dont need to be in the "ground". Looking for ideas or tips on how to achieve this, also wondering if anyone knows how much of what to plant for it to be sustainable for 2 people for most of the year. Thanks Re: Vertical Vegie Garden - Perth 2Aug 25, 2014 8:38 pm I think the biggest problem you'd have in Perth would be to keep it wet enough - I'll definitely be interested in what you find out - I love vertical gardens. Using gutters seems like a good plan too - I saw this little display last year at the Sheffield food festival: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Have a look on pinterest - there are loads of examples of vertical gardens linking to articles/blogs about them too. Thanks Hi sazzy91, did you end up installing a veggie vertical garden on the side of the house? I'd love to hear your feedback.
