Has anyone had good year round results with Zoysia or should we go for Kikuyu instead - really don't like Buffalos !?? Has anyone had good year round results with Zoysia or should we go for Kikuyu instead - really don't like Buffalos !?? We had empire zoysia at our old house in Madley for 3 years and granted it wasn't very water thirsty, but it was always a yellowy green colour rather than that rich green you want from a lawn. Its not a lawn I would choose again. My Build, viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64837 Re: Empire Zoysia or another turf in Perth area ?? 3Jul 24, 2014 9:51 am EZ doesn't go brown just because its summer. It will go brown if: a) fungal infection (brown spot) b) not enough water - this happens with any lawn. If it is kept watered and healthy in can look fantastic. If you keep it on the long side it will block out any weeds from growing. I had EZ at my last house, just moved into the new house and it needs work and plan to re-do the lawn. I will however be using Nara Zoysia. Native Australian variant. Re: Empire Zoysia or another turf in Perth area ?? 4Aug 10, 2014 10:34 pm I put down Velvetene last October and it was beautiful over summer. I nearly went EZ, but decided on velvetene after seeing it on display and liking how soft it was. Has been going fine over winter, thinned a little but still looks lovely. havent watered it since may, and hardly mown it either as I guess its dormant. I got mine from Superior lawns who i found very good. CDC Housing Code 3 When to apply Floor Area external face of wall vs Gross Floor Area internal face of wall.
