Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jun 17, 2014 4:49 pm Hi, In our back yard we currently have 2 different levels, 10cm apart. To simplify this we'd like to build a small retaining wall at the back fence (which is build on a retaining wall but not high enough) so that we can raise the ground level there by 10cm so that it becomes level with the alfresco. Our landscaper suggested we build a 1 course wall out of 300/250 lime stone which would be laid half overlapping the existing wall. Could we also build this wall out of the bricks we have left over from the house? They are clay bricks and I would think that 10cm of sand will not be so heavy that the house bricks could not hold it. Or any better ideas? I will call my certifier for that. Have a good day 4 5196 Yeah my reasoning is just that those house posts are designed for vertical load not lateral. I just didnt want to risk interfering with the existing house… 4 11549 Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16157 |
