Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jun 11, 2014 8:42 am I'm about to do a bit of land - outside - the fence at the back. It is a sloping bit - on sand - with my fence at one long side and bushes/plants at the other side - and I need a border down either end. So a rectangle in a sense.
I'm thinking stones and just a few basic plants - eg frangipani. I'll run a water system to it and them. I want it to be VERY easy care. Don't really want bark, and I may use some left over pavers as stepping stones along my fence line. I'm allowed to do this - SO LONG as I then look after it. Its between me and the golf course plants. About 5 metres by 20 metres. At the moment I just spray etc to kill the weeds. Its currently free of weeds ... Any other ideas ? Cheap - but not nasty. I'm having trouble visualising. That's not you is it Emy ... Visualise a rectangle - long end is my back fence - sloping down towards bushes. Area about 20 x 5 mts. Beyond is the golf course. Between is a water trap. It has a few bushes and a tree already in it. Will try to get a few pics - but its raining at the moment. Re: Ideas for hard area ? 6Jun 12, 2014 9:37 pm HA! Looks good and once the mondo is established you shouldn't get any weeds. like this Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ or Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ plants- frangipani is low care (you're in Brissy?), and you could also use something like parlour palm, giant bird of paradise, or murraya/lillypilly depending on what you like the look of. Re: Ideas for hard area ? 11Jun 18, 2014 9:53 am Did you want larger screening plants for between yourself and the golf course? Murraya, lillypillies or a hedging callistemon would suit the trees behind. Re: Ideas for hard area ? 13Jun 18, 2014 1:46 pm I've been told by my landscaper that Grevillea Poorinda Royal Mantle is a really good groundcover. I otherwise know nothing about plants, sorry!
