Of course during times of drought or long gaps between rainfall, it might need to be watered manually, and that's where you'd love to have pop up sprinklers. That said, I'd be looking at drip sprinklers for your gardens though. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Shocked as in so cheap, or shocked as in so expensive? Cost can depend on automation and size of your garden, and time due to difficult terrain etc. You can install them yourself; it's quite easy to lay 19mm irrigation pipes, and some companies such as Dural Irrigation (who does mail order) also have elbows for the sprinklers ready to go (probably cheaper to buy and set up yourself). I've gone with Rotators, which doesn't mist, so the water gets to the lawn rather than blown away. Previously had subsurface irrigation (drip), which was a waste of time (takes a long time running drips 300mm apart, especially with the number of joints required) and money (need special filters and herbicide impregnated filters, automatic flush, air break, as well as special drip hose with root and dirt resistant membrane). the leaves that are now underground go yellow, the tips that poke through photosynthesise and have chlorophyll, same reason they grow rhubarb in the dark. 5 4896 Thanks mate. Yeah good points! Leaning towards Option 3 to get a bit extra space in the cabinets but not going too crazy high (and expensive). Would require a mini… 13 39792 4 10829 |
