Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 May 28, 2014 1:30 pm Hello, Just wondering if anyone can lead me to the right turf to buy that would be suitable to lay during the colder period June / July. I was looking at going for EZ turf but it states on the website to avoid planting between April - September. Anyone have any recommendations and or photos of what they have layed? BTW: I will be doing all the soil prep as per the sticky's Many Thanks Re: Which turf for Melbourne - Laying June/July 3Jun 04, 2014 5:52 pm I'm looking to do the same. Was also looking at ez, alas annoying timing is annoying. Found getting certified organic compost in melbourne seems a little harder" one place does "organic" compost but yet warns to expect some rubbish in it like plastics etc.... Re soilworx I did look at them but sort of gave up till at least PCI comes along then ill do the sourcing in more detail. Let us know if you come up with anything in the meantime. Re: Which turf for Melbourne - Laying June/July 4Jun 05, 2014 1:21 pm I think ill be getting Palmetto Buffalo grass. My area does experience fair bit of frost and this is my first time doing the soil prep / laying grass so I don't want to risk going with EZ and failing. As for soil I have been looking at soilworx / BAAG (Bulleen Art) and some local sites. Hopefully I can get started on this soon as I need to claim a rebate from my estate once I've completed the project. I have gathered all my tools and perlite, zeolite, seamungus, bactivate, powerfeed, seasol so I really need to order soil and make my mind up on which grass I want. Re: Which turf for Melbourne - Laying June/July 5Aug 28, 2014 1:12 pm Thought I'd do an update. I didn't go with the EZ with the chance of it not starting off good so I went with Buffalo Palmetto. I didn't manage to find Naked Farmers soil until after i put the turf down. Would it be ok to sprinkle it over the turf or should i avoid doing that. Once the backyard is ready I will put down EZ and see how that goes. It has been getting daily watering and weekly Fu juice.
