Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 May 04, 2014 2:32 pm Hi, I've just recently bought a beautiful new house on the Central Coast of NSW and I have a big landscaping dilema. The backyard is about 6 x 6m long. About 4.5 x 4.5m of this is flat level land, but it then drops and slopes dramatically towards the fence at the back and the fence on the right side. I'm trying to work out what kind of things I could put there because it would be a nightmare to try to mow it. I'm not keen on any big gardens because I think my dogs will make a mess of them. And just to make things more difficult, there's an easement going through the backyard. Does anyone have any rough suggestions for the kinds of things I could put through there? I was thinking of a raised deck around the edge, but I'm not sure Gosford council will allow it with the easement underneath. Cheers! Sean. Re: Sloped Lawn Ideas??? 2May 20, 2014 12:36 pm We have a similar sloping-to-the-boundary rim around our backyard. Our landscaper has suggested planting that area with Grevillea 'Poorinda Royal Mantle' as a groundcover. And we are also going to plant small shrubs or a hedge or something in front of it to stop balls/our children etc going over and down the slope (may not be applicable for you hehe).
