Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 06, 2014 1:05 pm Hi folks, Just wondering what plants people would recommend for us. We need screening plants for one side of our fence. Our neighbour does not maintain their yard very well & we want to screen the fence, without hedging to block both weeds & long grass along their fenceline. My thought would be a mixture of bushes of differing heights, which would block quite low as well as maybe 2 to 3 meters. We don't want to go bamboo. Some plants which I think would work well so far are 1. Wooly Bush (block down low) 2. Native Mint (block down low) 3. Lillypilly (block low & high) I also like the idea of planting grevilleas & other natives which might be bird attracting as I worry about snakes living in the long grass (we are a rural area of north Brisbane). If anyone has any other recomendations it would be great. The fence gets a mixture of sun & shade in the morning but mainly full sun once afternoon hits, soil is quite gravelly with some clay a bit deeper. "A dream you dream alone is only a dream.
