We live in Perth, northern suburbs. As we have just built a new house (demolished in an existing suburb) the soil is really bad. Instead of adding the nutrients to the soil like Fu suggests, would we be better off just bringing in a whole lot of good quality top-fill soil (approx 150mm)? Also I've noticed that Fu recommends Empire Zyosa. Is this ok with dogs? Just a cocker spaniel. As we have retaining, a deck and liquid limestone surrounding the lawn could we use Kikuyou as there is nothing it could invade. Basically we want a drought tolerant low maintenance lawn.
