Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Mar 17, 2014 11:12 am Guys just want to get some thoughts on what I believe are frogs burrowing and living under my lawn. I followed Fu Man Chu's Turf laying guidelines for soil preperation and put down Empire Zoyza around 18 months ago. Lawn is very happy, strong and doing extremely well. (Thanks Fu ) However I started noticing soil mounds here and there in the lawn and originally thought it was the local magpies digging for grubs, This weekend though I noticed a 2cm round hole going down into the soil form one of these mounds. A neighbour suggested it might be frogs, which on reflection makes sense. We get lots of Frog calls in an evening and these "burrows" only pop up overnight. Now I quite like the idea of the frogs being happy here but just wanted to check if it could cause any issues with the turf, and also could they breed and get out of hand with numbers? 6 months ago we only had one or 2 burrows per night, now I am seeing 6 - 8. Any thoughts? https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=44762 My Owner builder journey extending a 1930's Bungalow Re: Frogs have set up home under my front Lawn. 2Mar 17, 2014 11:20 am docker_rob Now I quite like the idea of the frogs being happy here but just wanted to check if it could cause any issues with the turf, and also could they breed and get out of hand with numbers? 6 months ago we only had one or 2 burrows per night, now I am seeing 6 - 8.
