Did the fancy garden designer not provide information on what maintenance such a hedge would require? My go-to plants for narrow garden beds are conifers, if you don't mind the wait as they are slow growers, and Sacred Bamboo or Nandina, which isn't a bamboo at all. I have thought about clumping bamboo but never taken the plunge because I have heard of people having problems with the size of the clump, it isn't invasive like running bamboo is but unless you match up the space with a variety that grows to that width it's still going to need maintenance. Which brings us back to what Nibbles55 said. Nibbles55 I think it will be quite challenging to keep a hedge that narrow, regardless of what plant you choose. dimensions on your original plan are inconsistent and with accurate dimensions (including site plan, upstairs and down) i could make a proper scale drawing with furniture… 3 7485 Thanks again for this information.
