Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Mar 09, 2014 9:22 pm So I've read the posts on lawn prep and am pretty confident in what needs to be done. The bit I'm having trouble with though is calculating how much matter i actually need. My area is approx 92sqm. I originally worked out approx 25 cubic meters of sand/compost and additives etc to till through my existing clay soil. Although after seen some comments from Fu Manchu in another post about someones 350sqm area, he suggested needing just over half of that, I realised I'm over shooting here. My original plan was to introduce 30cm of new soil over that area and hoe it in, but Fu's comments made me realise that even after compacting, this will raise my soil level significantly. I am not REPLACING the soil, but conditioning it, so I don't need all this new matter. Anyone able to point me to a formula for the how much matter I need for this area to till in? Not ratios of the sand/compost, just the volume of the total matter. Cheers Creator of superduperonium, expert at expert things, nobel laureate, can hold my breath for 10 minutes. Hi, My home construction is complete, and the handover is scheduled next week. However the construction has been delayed and I have raised this to the builder.
