Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Oct 04, 2006 8:38 am Hello all, this is my first post here. I'll try to make it quick. I'm installing a Nicolock Sierra garden stone, as a flower bed along the foundation of a house. The brick is 4" in height with two rows. I buried the first row an inch, so it was level with the step, for a total of 7" above the sidewalk. Do I run a string, or level each brick as I go? I tried going off the first level brick, and 5 bricks down that brick was level with the sidewalk, the first being 1" below the walkway. So I decided to run a string 3" above the walk way, now it looks even. What went wrong here?? Any help would be great, brick1 Re: Use a level, or use the sidewalk 2Oct 05, 2006 6:07 pm Just off the top of my head, is your land level or does it run slight down?
I think dig the hole the length of the bed, do a string line, then see if it all levels out. If not take more out or some back in. Then put your blocks in. Does that make sense?
