Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design Re: White Shade Sails - anyone have one - do they get too di 6Oct 12, 2014 1:43 pm Hi, A couple of other things to note with shade sails: You will need to keep the tension in shade sail, so that it doesn’t sag. Make sure that you have the right structural support for the shade sail. As the sail has wind load and rain load it needs to have sufficient structural support that are designed to take the loads. Finally make sure that the shade sail is maintained and kept clean. The geometry, or angle of the shade sail will help to keep it clean with rainwater washing most build up off. Do not let dirt, leaf litter and bird droppings build up on the shade sail fabric. These should be removed by light sponging with warm water or with a soft head broom. Good Luck. Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck.
