Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Dec 31, 2013 11:07 am Hello, I am really new to gardening and have only recently caught the bug. I have a slight problem though. The boyfriend put in pine sleepers (CCA) around the garden beds recently. After I discovered my new hobby, reading about the pine sleepers (CCA) it seems that I shouldn't be growing any vegetables near them because of the arsenic. I have some veggies in pot plants at the moment waiting to go into the gardening.. Is there anything I can do so I can grow vegetables in my garden bed? Or is it a lost cause? This would limit any chemicals making their way into your vegie garden soil area. Is yours CCA treated? I thought newer types of treated sleepers have reduced or removed the arsenic? And yeah, for added peace of mind I've seen the advice to line with black plastic before too.
