Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Dec 17, 2013 12:32 pm Hi guys! I recently bought a house and I am trying to work out what i'm going to do with the lawn in the backyard (and to some degree the whole block). In a nutshell 1/2 of my lawn is relatively good, it's mostly blue couch (or at least i think it is) mixed with a few other bits and pieces. The other 1/2 is just dirt or weeds with patches of blue couch. The dirt patches are from removing garden beds or recieving too much shade. I figure I will solve the shade area by putting down paving. One of my pain points is there is a scattering of rocks in the soil and it is slightly uneven in spots. What I had planned on doing is hiring a skip, removing 30mm of the top soil from the entire 1/2 of the backyard (even removing the good patches) so I can even it all out a bit and get rid of those annoying rocks. Then i'll put down some top soil and buying some blue couch roles to lay out. Is this the best approach or does anyone have some advise? thanks in advance! Give Jonathan a call. Tell him you know me.
