Has anyone got any experience with hydroseeding for starting a lawn? We have a 40x10m block of scraped dirt - no house - not much money, and a medium term plan to spend money I don't have on a pool and landscaping
(We bought the rundown cottage next door (to our 5 yr old home) after the neighbours bolted, with a view to eventually putting in a pool and having more lawn for the kids. Our home is on 405m2, and the allotment next door is on the corner and the same size).
The excavator is just finishing cleaning up the new block and the end result is scraped clean dirt.
I was thinking about doing some work prepping (getting some topsoil and doing what I can according to Fu's guides) but I'm not sure I can afford that much turf, esp if I'm going to rip it up in a year or so. Lawn would at least make our investment remotely usable in the mean time. But there are downsides.
Hydro seeding looks like it might slow erosion (its on a gentle slope) settle the dust and maybe in 3 months we would have something like a lawn?
