Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Nov 20, 2013 2:00 pm Hi. First time asking so go gently please. Moved into current house a couple months ago. Just not sure what type of lawn I have. First couple of pics are just after moved in so obviously the grass is much greener than currently. I have not done much to it except mowing but now I wish to get on top of it as previously I was concentrating on other parts of the house. Now with the heat approaching it has started to take affect on the lawn. I am in Adelaide. http://i.imgur.com/bFUi9VJ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8CpFsUv.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KtEh8B0.jpg These are the older photos. The last one I took to figure out what to use to kill off the clover but I got busy with other projects. Here are some I took today http://i.imgur.com/MWkEEDr.jpg http://i.imgur.com/EsXOali.jpg http://i.imgur.com/qBnZDks.jpg http://i.imgur.com/QODB2k4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/DSh98mB.jpg Firstly, can anyone tell me what type of lawn I have? Secondly what would be the best course of action to help recover the lawn? A Weed & Feed product? Obviously I have been slack with the watering and I know that its definitely lacking that. And also I know that I didn't get to the Bindi weeds in time so am starting to get them prickly little seeds now. Is there any thing I can do about them? Im guessing just manually rip them out as best as possible? Any help with all or any of the above would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Re: What lawn do I have? Help rid of bindis 2Nov 21, 2013 7:20 am Undertake the following to bring life to your lawn / soil: Aerate the soil with a pitchfork Throw on some Bactivate over the lawn. Refer to below link. Send the bloke an email. Its about $20 bucks for a tub. Organic and cheap. Can't go wrong. Water in a mix of Seasol, Powerfeed and Molasses every week or two. Plenty of water All natural and you'll see results in no time. Never ever use synthetic fertilizers. Never. http://www.bioactivesoilsolutions.com.a ... e-grow-npk As for your clover, use Searles "Buffalo Master": http://www.masters.com.au/product/90000 ... care-200ml As we head into warmer weather, i am finding what little clover i have in my lawn is slowly dying off. Worry about your clover once it pops back up after summer. Otherwise, and if it's that bad use Buffalo Master as per above. Ensure you use a weak mix, i usually halve the recommended amount and spray once or twice a week apart. Add a drop of dish washing liquid and Seasol to the mix. Dishwashing liquid to ensure Buffalo Master sticks to the clover and Seasol to ensure is gets to the root quicker and more effectively. Works for me every time and in turn reduces the amount of Buffalo Master i need to use, ensuring i don't burn the lawn with this toxic stuff. My lawn is lush, thick and healthy thanks to the above knowledge gained from this forum and in particular Fu Manchu. Have a read of his posts. I'm not entirely sure of your lawn type. Looks like a kikuyu or buffalo??? Anyone? the leaves that are now underground go yellow, the tips that poke through photosynthesise and have chlorophyll, same reason they grow rhubarb in the dark. 5 4893 Thanks mate.
