I have someone coming over to remove a few trees and whilst he was here I wasn't sure whether we should give our lemon tree a hard prune? Its over 3m tall and has been a bit neglected Would love any advice! The aim is to lop the branches shorter before they fruit, cos they break more easily than other citrus trees. There are articles you can google to see how to top lop them to make gathering the fruit easier if you want. Of course you might want to leave the shape as is, just a lot shorter. We had just moved in and it appeared to have been left alone for years, and it took a while to recover.
