Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Oct 08, 2013 3:24 pm We're on an exposed hill and I'm looking at screening the west side of our house with some lattice work and climbing plants. I was thinking about having it a metre away from the wall and to run as a free standing structure for 10 or more metres in length and up to 3 metres high. Is there any particular plants or lattice suppliers that people would recommend? I was looking at colorbond lattice work, but the suppliers look to be mostly in QLD and I haven't really found any in VIC. Then again, I don't know if metal lattice would be too harsh on plants when it heats up... Thoughts on the whole idea? Will creepers be bad for the house at all, even at that distance? Re: Big lattice screen 3Oct 16, 2013 6:29 pm That's a high lattice!! I've never seen anything like it! So no particular advice sorry about that but another thought - what about tall clumping bamboos? I've certainly seen those used as a high screening option and it seems to fit the bill for what you need. You also wouldn't need a lattice. Be sure to check out my website and you might find something that you are after. Julian Dapple Landscape Design Landscape plans on sale for May & June only! The structure would need to be away from the wall. Do you feel some posts over the 10 metre length with wire through them would work better than lattice? Any other thoughts from anyone? Re: Big lattice screen 6Nov 08, 2013 12:00 pm We did the wire thing but against a timber fence and worked really well. We had the jasmine on one side and some passionfruit on the other. The passionfruit grew faster than the jasmine in our case. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me You have no photo with your post.
