Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Sep 23, 2013 6:21 pm We have just sold our house and are about to move into a rental property and will wait until our perfect home comes in the market. The place we are moving too needs a good garden makeover but I dont want to waste money making someone else's garden beautiful at my expense especially when we will hopefully only be there for a short time. Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy plants in Perth? Not fully grown plants - just baby ones which should be cheaper to buy - and only natives. Re: Where are the Cheapest plants in Perth 2Oct 08, 2013 12:46 am At the moment George Lullfitz has a sale. He only grows and sells natives and you can choose from several sizes of pots and tubes. We just picked up some well grown kanga paws for a friend for $3 each, he has yellow, green, red and orange. Lots of other bargains too. But be quick, the sale has been on for a while... Re: Where are the Cheapest plants in Perth 3Oct 08, 2013 8:44 am Thanks Trees! I'd forgotten about Lullfitz - that will be perfect for me!!! Will get down there asap. I see you are building in SW WA - my dream is to move to an acreage somewhere south of Perth. Have to stay here for the kids for a few years, but am thinking about buying a property with a view to making that our home in the fullness of time. Where are you building - and is it what you were hoping for? Re: Where are the Cheapest plants in Perth 4Oct 08, 2013 10:29 am Ennoh, we are about 9 kms out from Margs towards Augusta. And yes, we think the location is the best - just wish we could have afforded a bit more land...but then would have had a mortgage as well. Re: Where are the Cheapest plants in Perth 5Oct 08, 2013 3:47 pm Hi Ennoh,a good place to go if you want larger plants to give an instant effect is Hort Mart on Sydney Road in Wanneroo.People who grow plants for a hobby drop them off there and the prices are pretty good. Murraya could be a great option for you. It creates a great tall screening hedge but doesn't drop fruit like lily pilly. The flowers smell divine. 2 10253 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13103 1 11009 |
