Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Aug 19, 2013 6:36 am I have been reluctant to ask questions about my lawn due to the extensive threads already on this topic however I am still unsure what I should do in my circumstance. I am in Kyneton Vic and I am going to sow a seeded lawn. I presently have clay with about 200mm of a granitic sand type soil on top. It has been raining a lot over the last 2 months. At the moment the area is not perfectly flat so when it rains some areas form puddles but they disappear within 24 hours. Ideally I'd prefer the rain to not form puddles but once the ground is level and there is grass it should be better. I'm prepared to accept some wet areas that dry up within a day if it means not having to put in a drainage system that will steal my water during summer. I want to raise the level of the soil about 100mm. What soil should I buy in? Compost, sandy loam, "top soil", a mixture?
