Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jul 24, 2013 1:32 am Hoping to get some advice from the gardening gurus here. I have a new lawn installed in December last year (in Perth) by a landscaper. I think it was buffalo palmetto but I am not sure as to what the soil preparation that was used. It seem to settle in well and was fine until about 3 weeks ago when it started turning brown in patches. I have attached some photos. Any ideas as to what may be the problems. Any help much appreciated. We had buffalo palmetto at our last place and it lost its colour in winter. I think you will find the green will return come spring. You might want to try some fertiliser to lift it but really i found the green came with more sun! Re: Whats wrong with my lawn? 3Jul 24, 2013 11:22 am Looks like a particularly bad case of winter lawn. Probably not much to do about it now but it should come right with some warmth. Look up some of Fu's tips on lawn care - Molasses/Seasol/Powerfeed mix very month and one of the high quality slow release fertilzers a couple of time a year. I use Oz Breed on my palmetto and they have different fertilzers to be applied spring and autumn/summer I am saying that double brick has similar thermal performance due to thermal mass effect.
