Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jul 04, 2013 3:51 pm Hello All, A bit nervous here but we recently spent a fortune on concrete and this matter has me a little irked... Before the concrete was poured, one of my kids had left a few flower head/petals - about 8 of them (about a 9cm diameter size) in the subgrade grid concrete grids. Unfortunately, I was not around when the concrete was being poured, my wife was, and when the concreter asked what was this, she just said it was the kids mucking around....it's ok to pour over it. The concrete bloke then proceeded to pour the concrete over the flower heads/petals. Eight of the flowers/flower head/petals were laid in a line in each different square on the rebars..... I'm really concerned this will cause cracking in the concrete...as I would assume this would happen: The concrete will encapsulate the flower head/petal which will decompose within a week and then the concrete would move/sink??? Thinking about this had made me really p*ssed but can't do anything!!! arghhh...never ever put foreign matter in the subgrade!!! To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9863 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10943 |
