I'm looking for some clever ideas for powering garden lights.
I am looking to put some light strings behind perforated / laser cut metal panels attached to the rear fence.
I would also like to install some lighting in a fire-pit area and light some quirky decorative items in the garden / alfresco.
Build is yet to start so my plans are:
- run some conduit to the fence line before the turf goes in
- run some conduit to the fire pit area
For 12v, what sort of cable should I run down the conduit?
I am also wondering if anyone has ideas for solar-powering the charging of a battery used to power the lights?
Alternatively should I just go simple and power a transformer off the mains. Are there good general-purpose systems for powering 12v (LED) lights and light fittings.
Also - can anyone recommend good outdoor / all-weather double / quad power points?
