Preferably you need a border of plants along the path edges to stop the mulch getting chucked on it. But thats not possible overnight so some simple black plastic netting, like the stuff used in fishing nets thats very thin. You can't really see it once its streched out over the mulch and lightly topped with more straw. Just do this in your prob areas. I guess I will have to put up with the mess and clear daily (birds go all day) then when bulbs need lifting I will dig the straw in and never go near it again.
