Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 May 07, 2013 5:59 pm Hi, I'm building in WA and live opposite a National Park gorgeous except that the 'cute' kangaroos like to decimate the garden. Can anyone recommend some sort of hedge/bushy tree that kangaroos won't eat - we wish to screen out the neighbours retaining wall. We planted some cottonwoods over a year ago, the roos had a nibble and left them alone except for last month when they suddenly decided they were tasty and ate all 5 x. We don't want to throw anymore money away on kangaroo feed. Re: Kangaroo Proof Plants 2May 12, 2013 10:12 am Hmm well it seems that I'll need to do some experimentation to find something suitable. My thoughts are that I should go for some type of conifer, I'm not the biggest fan of conifers as I wanted something prettier and more lush and green however I just can't see a roo chewing on one of those, will let you all know how I go.
