Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 30, 2013 10:36 am I'm after a few hundred to cover my front fence line as a privacy screening plant but can seem to find any sellers in bulk We have sandy soils that has nice patches of thick grass here and there- we desperately need privacy so I'm open to other suggestions for fast growing hedges! Also looking to by 20 or so London Plane Trees or Liquid Amber as a secondary line of planting on our border (I choose these two types because they are my favorites!). Any advice on suppliers would be much appreciated... I cant seem to find what I need anywhere! Re: Where can I buy viburnums in W.A.? AND trees!!! 2Apr 30, 2013 4:03 pm Hi Elle,if you live near Perth you could try Ellenby Tree Farm in Sydney Road in Wanneroo,or if you have an ABN number you could go to Benara Nursery in Carabooda. They are on 350 acres and have everything from seedling to 11 metres high, Good luck, Topiarius Re: Where can I buy viburnums in W.A.? Re: Where can I buy viburnums in W.A.? AND trees!!! 4May 22, 2013 11:27 am elle liquid ambers get huge. London plane trees do too but I've seen a few massive liquid ambers in a tree arbourium in Balingup. Hope you've got several acres at least if you are planning 20 of them. Re: Where can I buy viburnums in W.A.? AND trees!!! 6Jun 04, 2013 10:39 pm Landsdale plants have plenty of vibernum tinus and they are priced under $9.00. They also have a few trees though I go to Arbor west tree farm when I want to look at a huge variety, they both have websites for you to look at. Re: Where can I buy viburnums in W.A.? AND trees!!! 7Jun 11, 2013 8:21 pm Oh, I can only suggest you research the size these trees (London Plane) become. There are major issues with them in urban areas. Canningvale is one where damage is occurring from landscape (street trees) specimens. There are specimens in the city that would cover many suburban blocks under their shady cover. (One tree) They are not being used responsibly by the landscape industry. People like the look and streetscaping is falling victim to a mentality by professional designers of plant, get the check, walk way, someone else's problem. Re: Where can I buy viburnums in W.A.? AND trees!!! 8Jun 16, 2013 3:54 pm I agree with Fu. The landscape industry needs to have a look at itself, and this includes the Lifestyle programs. People are always told put your Palms on the back fence as a backdrop to the pool. Ok this looks good but how many people keep the dead fronds on the Palm? I have problems with people who put trees in and forget them. After I have taken 15 years to perfect a plant and keep it below the height of my fence so as not to impose on the neighbours view and then have it wrecked by the neighbours trees hanging over my property and letting the fronds wave around in the wind smashing everything and when I cut them off and throw them over the fence to the owner I get abused. They do not give a stuff about my plants and when I ask them for $1500 to replace a plant they go ape! If you plant trees keep them on your property and when they get too big prune them or once the get to a height that you like turn them into a weeping tree and keep the neighbours happy. A survey must’ve completed by a certified surveyor. This form part of every DA requirement 3 223465 Looking at some of the designs on websites, they are all selling very similar products. I get that you want something stylish. It's worth looking for search terms like SaveH2O… 2 6972 Thanks. I called VBA today and they said it was a Consumer Affairs issue, the old handball. Seems like the government organisations don't want to do their job at the moment. 2 7520 |
