Thanks for the input into the thread, much appreciated mate..... When you say clay.. Are you talking really thick clay? We get that from about the 300mm mark. However from the 0 to 300mm is mostly crappy brown dirt however not clay, it's hard but not clay like. Make sense?
At the moment Lisa and I are trying to sort out our water issues... Once that's done, I'll get stuck into Fu's plan and see how it goes. Bacchus Marsh is actually a growing district and you go past the vegetable farms and see this glorious brown topsoil. Reading Fu's advice and the types of things we want to grow. I *KNOW* that at least need to get my dirt looking like that to grow stuff in. Have a look at the photos above as to what we've got at the moment Sticking 10cms of top soil on top really does seem like now a rather stupid idea.
Have you got some before and after photos of your soil Mclaren?? Would love to see it.
