Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 02, 2013 9:46 pm So I should get keys any day now, and I've got my liquid limestone for driveway and alfresco organised, but he reckons I need to pay $450 for a bobcat to remove excess sand to get it to the right level. So, that's all fine, but what about the rest of the yard? It's even higher than my driveway area, and I know the landscaping guy won't do any work till the area is 'ready.' I don't really understand how to get it ready though. If I'm going to spend so much money on a bobcat, I want to get the entire front back and sides ready, so I don't have to do it all over again. Does anyone know what levels each area need to be at, and who do i organise to level everything? What's the going rate? What do I do with the sand? Hire a bobcat that has a truck and he will level it out for you and remove the clean fill to the tip. Hope that helps Re: Post Handover Landscaping and Driveway Preparation 3Apr 24, 2013 11:07 pm Our lot has only been leveled one meter around our house and we need to remove a lot of soil to prepare our driveway . We are planning to sift most of the soil to the back of our house. We have a very thick slab and at the moment 15 cm is sticking up between soil and brick. Will the builder fill more in at site clean up ? To what level should the soil be if we are planning a concrete pathway all around the house ? Our landscaping people said for grass, it should be 30mm below the kerb, but I guess if you want to do it properly, topdressing and everything, it makes more sense for 100mm.
