Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Mar 14, 2013 6:19 pm Hi, I took 2 PURPLE forrest pansys out of the ground, potted them up, then replanted them in a new property when we moved homes. The leaves then grew purple for a while, and over a period of months have turned green. Any suggestions? I liked them a lot better when they were purple, and they have been incorporated into my gardens design as a purple feature tree against green capital pears. I had a mature cercis canadensis at our other home and LOVED it so much, it was my favoutirite tree by miles. I should also mention that their 1st home was on the Mornington Peninisula, Victoria, and their new home is in Central Victoria. However, I have seen them growing here happily. Re: My Forest Pansy has turned green?! 2Mar 21, 2013 11:59 am Pretty normal for that to happen. Usually toward the end of summer they will green up a bit. Many plants with red colour actions to the leaves do this. Not much you can do to stop it. Sometimes, periods of high cloud cover can cause them to green up as well. They'll produce more chlorophyll to cope with lower light levels. Of course it's not always the case. Re: My Forest Pansy has turned green?! 3Mar 21, 2013 11:59 am Oh, it can also depend on the source of the trees and the quality of what you bought. We are building a second dwelling and are currently selecting window and door frames. We want to blend into the forest and also bring out the stone work and the fake wood… 0 15935 I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15278 4 14297 |
