Our generous bobcat guy who is diggling up our whole front yard tomorrow has offered to deliver soil for our new beds while he is here...that's fantastic but now I need to order 10 mt3 of new soil tomorrow. I don't really have a planting plan yet- thought it was months away so my dilemma is...what should I order? We will be having aprox new soil 100 mm over the top of Perth sand. Should I dig it through or just leave it on top...is there a good general purpose soil that most plants will love? I started researching soil today actually but now don't have the time. Add zeolite and Bentonite Clay or most of what you are buying will end up in the Ocean or Swan/Canning river. No one is selling "good" soil that contains the very basic elements of what a "good" soil is. A layer of 100mm of soil will also mean very shallow root development meaning a very expensive problematic garden/landscape that is resource hungry. You must be new to the internet.
