Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jan 21, 2013 10:50 am Hi all, I'm looking to build a retaining wall from treated pine sleepers, since unfortuately can't afford to use the coloured concrete blocks. Anyway, in attempt to minimise warping I'm thinking to use coach bolts into 75mm (or 100mm) sleeper uprights rather than H channel, with 75mm sleepers. Are there better quality sleepers that may be less prone to warping, ie Bunnings grade vs Timber yard grade? Also what spacing for the uprights will help reduce any warping? The wall will be around 20m in length & probably 4 sleepers high. Mine is still quite new with no warping yet, but I don't see it being an issue. Here is a shot of it to give you an idea...
