Hi. I have gotten drawings back from my builder for our soakwell placement and I don't know anything about soakwells and how many are required. Here's the drawing:
Are there enough soakwells?
We also want to put in a rain water collection tank at some stage (either during construction or after). Not sure yet if we will go with grey water or just use the water as irrigation for the garden. But what provisions do we need the builder to make in the plans to allow for that in the future or during the build?

Number of soak wells look quite efficient. By the looks of it, they will probable be a 1200 litre soak well at the back of the property, with another 1200 and a 1500 soak well at the front. This is a pretty common setup on new homes.
Also with your rainwater system, if you want to install a tank after handover, All the work is best done during construction.
The builder I work for most commonly allows for a rainwater loop in the brickwork near your laundry sliding door. I'm not 100 percent sure on where it loops to, but i know it gets connected to your showers and laundry trough.
If you get the provisions in before the house is started, you will save yourself a bit of money when it comes to getting the rainwater system installed, as half the work has already been completed.
