Hi All
Has anyone used sugar cane mulch for a vegie garden? If so is it any good?
Thanks in advance.

Have tried pea straw and other bailed hay but found they were full of seeds (both weed and pea) and rather light so the birds have a field day. I have found the sugar cane we victorians get from Bunnings, dusty but very clean of weeds, is slightly heavier than straw so the birds dont flick it as far (but they still do!) and most importantly, it rarely mats down until it is almost rotted away, thus letting the water through to the soil much better.
