Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Nov 03, 2012 2:47 pm I would like to build a tropical garden. Have a large shaded area at the back of the block that would be a great location for shade loving plants. I have looked around but there are not that many locations that sell tree ferns etc and the ones that do are quite expensive. Does anyone know of discount nurseries, wholesalers or on line stores who sell tree ferns, birdsnest ferns, bromiliads etc. Even better if anyone is looking to sell any of these plants let me know. Thanks Re: Buying tree ferns, palms etc in Sydney 3Nov 18, 2014 7:16 am Found this post via Google. Are you still looking as we have two very large mature birds nest ferns that need a loving shady home, after our neighbours 20 metre casuarina has been lopped! Re: Buying tree ferns, palms etc in Sydney 4Nov 18, 2014 12:58 pm Keep checking ebay. Some people put ridiculous prices on their plants but most are reasonable and every now and again an absolute bargain will come along. A client of mine did this a few years ago and their Balinese garden looks fantastic. I think it was his BIL who is a landscaper who drew up a landscape plan then told them the plants to get. They priced everything from nurseries and plants alone were going to cost them well over $5,000. Gumtree is another to have a look at as well. Stewie Hello. I just bought a few acres in Habana, Mackay, and my horses seem to love hanging around under this tree. I would like to name the paddock after this tree. Can… 0 9528 Fellow Perth dweller. Looks like pruns nigra. It's a dark leaf flowering plum. Doesn't get massive and is easily trimmed deciduous tree. Very popular in small gardens in Perth 7 2759 |
