Has anyone advice on fake grass.
I've seen it and it looks pretty good. Not everywhere - but for those hard to get spots - maybe instead of paving ?

The premium stuff looks nice but it all comes down to personal choice. I went real grass http://lindeman28.blogspot.com - Our building blog Re: Fake Grass ? 3Nov 03, 2012 6:29 am Trewman Mate of mine works for the grass man. The premium stuff looks nice but it all comes down to personal choice. I went real grass Yes - but for the mowing - me too ... But - at the back of a pool - a pathway - or an awkward corner - it seems a good option - ie looks nice and surprised me when I saw it. I expected this 'el-cheapo" fake green stuff - but from a few metres away it looks very real. Does your mate know the price per metre - I gather its dearer than the real stuff - but lasts longer of course. And needs little maintenance. Re: Fake Grass ? 5Nov 03, 2012 6:57 am humble Real Grass.. $7 - $10 per metre.. Fake Grass.. $70 to $xxx? per metre.. Thanks. I knew it was more but I guess you have to take in other things - ie no watering system, mowing etc etc. As you get older the mowing is an issue ... Re: Fake Grass ? 6Nov 03, 2012 7:14 am Here's an old thread with installation pics at my Parents' house 4 years ago. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=10632&p=120865&hilit=synthetic+turf+installation#p120865 It still looks great, and they have not had any maintenance done on it at all (no refilling of sand and brushing). There have been a few small weeds growing in it but pull out no problem, but it still does get hot in full sun...despite the hedge now grown and the Birch trees are quite large. Also something to think about, where the plants from the garden touch the grass in the full sun....they burn. Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! Re: Fake Grass ? 8Nov 03, 2012 7:24 am Wow. Great pics S. That is fantastic It is so good to see it like that. I gathered it was like laying carpet - ie an underlay type layer on top of gravel/sand and then the "carpet" layed. I like the idea of a small golf set-up too. One thing - does it "skin" the knee when you fall on it ? Re: Fake Grass ? 9Nov 08, 2012 8:02 am We have Fake grass around our pool... A few days ago it was 37 here, it was in full sun and it was not hot underfoot at all, but we did go with a premium product at $90 p/m supply and installed... Ours was one that is designed for around pools, cooler underfoot, non slip and non reflective... a few close up pics Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ and just one more because I am so happy with it Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I think when it is used in the right application it is great. We have a real lawn outside the pool area which we work hard at getting nice and lush. For my parents when they finally downsize and have a courtyard style yard, I will be suggesting this for them.
