Hello everyone,
So my EZ turf has been down for just over 6 months now after doing the full Fu Manchu soil prep.
Now I live in Brisbane and we have only had one good drench since the lawn went down so I do not know if this is normal or not but I am finding my EZ turf very thirsty.
I have to water it twice a week for nearly an hour each (using the 19mm gardena hose) to pull it back from heat stress.
I find my lawn is constantly going into heat stress after 4+ days without being watered.
It is quite a vicious cycle because after I water it, it grows like crazy! I am now planning to mow it weekly to try and lower the length because It currently is near the max height setting on my Honda mower and keeps struggling to cut it because in the full sun areas it is so very thick.
I guess that is a good thing because it means my soil is very healthy that the lawn is growing so strong (the sunny areas grew very strong all through winter). Shadier areas are still a bit sparse but getting better now that we're in spring.
I am at the point that I am contemplating installing reticulation so I am not spending so much time watering by hand/hose, though I believe all forms of sprinklers are still banned in Brisbane even outside peak hours - not sure on that.
I took a couple of photos a week or so ago showing the main area of the lawn (we had some ducks taking a gander:)
This shows what the lawn condition is like when watered (looks great) but just seems to me I need to water it too often.

I picked EZ because its meant to be the slowest growing and also very drough tolerant - both these points don't seem to be true in my case, or am I just expecting too much?
