Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Aug 23, 2012 7:35 pm I just came back from Singapore where my daughter cooks mainly Lebanese/Greek dishes. One dish was sprinkled with pomegranate seeds. It was the best dish I have eaten for ages. I googled and found that Perth has the right climate. Now I only need a plant or cuttings from someone. Evelin Re: Where to buy Pomegranate and which variety in Perth? 2Aug 24, 2012 1:24 pm Cheap and good trees from tass1trees in swan valley. He has loads of varieties, too, so I can't help you choose, although he knows what he's talking about so should be able to give you some advice. I have just planted a "Ganesh". Re: Where to buy Pomegranate and which variety in Perth? 3Aug 25, 2012 4:10 pm Ooo I love pomegranate! I grew up across the road from an elderly lady that use to 'treat' us with her fresh pomegranates from her tree. We're also planning on planting a tree but yet to start the research so will be watching carefully. What you get will vary a great deal in price and quality. Price should not be a factor when buying productive plants. You get what you pay for. There really is only two places to look: http://www.tass1trees.com.au and Wandilla on Welshpool Rd East Yes there are many other places to get these, but the best recomendations are the ones listed above. Thanks for the suggestions, when I come back to Perth in mid October I will go to Tass1trees. I want to buy the best that money can buy. I prepared the soil already. I will not go to Wandilla, they sold me once a blueberry plant in a size 13 or larger. When I was to plant it out, I realized that they simply put a punet size plant in new soil to sell it at a higher price. Not a single root had grown into the new soil. Since than I'm not buying anything from them. I also feel the place is lacking care. I really hope the fruits will be better than what I bought in the local supermarket. My daughter made that fantastic dish with baked aubergines, basil, yoghurt and the pomegranate were floating on top of the yoghurt. Very delicious. I looked at the Tass1trees website and they have the Wonderful variety, which seems to be the most popular at the moment. Time will tell. Yes, the pomegranate I bought from IGA had dark seeds and wasn't sweet at all. Cross fingers. Looking at some of the designs on websites, they are all selling very similar products. I get that you want something stylish. It's worth looking for search terms like SaveH2O… 2 6988 Black on light wood does look good. Not sure if it will be as long lasting as a steel finish? 6 6346 brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7558 |
