We went to a charity auction, and bought 20sqm for $1200. Planned to put in back yard, I told DH on the night it was not enough and I was not prepared to pay for the extra we would need as we were moving anyway...DH had a bit too much to drink and got carried away and won it. They came out to measure we needed aprox 55sqm. ![]() The company then told us that they would do the lot for the amount we paid for it at the charity auction, as it was for a good cause ![]() Such a professional job - turned up when they said they would day 1 two men prepaired surface and left the place spotless day 2 different two men installed then removed all rubbish then gave the back yard a blow off with the blower. I would reccomend then any day (not just because we got a cheap job ![]() Paula Re: Tiger Turf 3Mar 26, 2008 5:18 pm Wow thats great Paula - do you have any pics?
DH and I are thinking of putting this in our courtyard of our townhouse prior to selling - we tried laying real stuff but it died - had a few garden friends look at it and they said we would have a hard time trying to grow grass due to shading, soil etc.. We want to give the yard a spruce up to add some value - we are probably looking at about 16m2 so not a huge area Re: Tiger Turf 4Mar 26, 2008 5:24 pm ![]() To add to tiger turf here in Melbourne, We went to a charity auction, and bought 20sqm for $1200. I noticed on their website that they're going to have a stand at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show which runs from 2nd - 6th April so might be worthwhile to check the product first hand. Re: Tiger Turf 6Mar 27, 2008 9:48 am Here are some pics, it had been windy and raining overnight here so you will see the leaves from the trees, which gives it a more natural look.
By the way it is lush to walk on. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Paula Re: Tiger Turf 8Mar 27, 2008 10:03 am How is it held in place?
There is a house near me that put it in on their nature strip. From a distance it looks good (maybe a little too green) but on closer inspection, you could see it wasn't fastened down on the sides and there was atleast one spot where you could lift it up. ![]() ![]() Re: Tiger Turf 9Mar 27, 2008 10:18 am Well i for one think that looks great! I can't believe how real it looks...
Do you know which type of TigerTurf it is Paula? Apparently there area few types; Lush, and a few others I can't think of the names of.. Thats exactly what we are thinking of... Might get in touch with them, our area is so small it shouldn't cost a bomb, plus I think my brother could do the installation... Great photos - Love your springfree tramp btw ![]() Re: Tiger Turf 10Mar 27, 2008 10:43 am Quote: How is it held in place? There is a house near me that put it in on their nature strip. Dan the people near you may have a different brand of fake grass. This is pinned into the ground and believe me, you cant lift it up. Have a good look at the close up photo of the edge, you can see how snug it looks. Quote: Do you know which type of TigerTurf it is Paula? Very practicle, would you still have to have a lawn mower in view of the visitors to make it all the more real? ![]() ![]() Re: Tiger Turf 12Mar 30, 2008 6:27 pm Quote: Gee Whizz that tiger turf looks great. That would really get them wondering how you manage such a perfect lawn Great idea!! ![]() Paula I guess ultimately it doesn't matter what pattern the rolls are laid, so long as the edges butt up against each other and there are no big gaps. Most of the rolls can be… 6 11990 |
