Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Aug 01, 2012 1:31 pm Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. Would just like to thank everyone so far, I've already learnt so much from this forum since I stumbled across it and am well aware there is still so much more for me take in. I have begun changing my ways in the garden to become more inline with waterwise concepts and reducing my water bills while increasing the beauty of my garden all year round hopefully. If it wasn't for you guys I would never have stopped using black mulch and ordered the fresh stuff from mulchnet (ordered saturday, delivered monday btw). I have also stopped using fertiliser and started using seasol/powerfeed/gogo juice and this afternoon I will be going and buying some molasses also. I have started adding bentonite clay to my beach sand soil and soon will be adding the extras, zeolite, spongolite etc etc. I am in Craigie in Perth, currently in our first house slowly renovating. Lots of beach sand for soil. So that's my introduction! Only thing I'd also like to ask is I now have a couple of bags of fertiliser sitting around and I have no idea how I am meant to dispose of these responsibly? Hopefully you guys can help me. I am sure I will be posting again soon as we will embark on designing our front yard and will need some ideas! Our block is very steep, e.g. the driveway climbs about 2.5m or more over about 6m. Thanks again! Re: Introduction and thanks for your help everyone so far 2Aug 02, 2012 4:09 am Get in touch with the City of Joondalup, they will be best to advise you on how to dispose of it in accordance with their environmental policies. That beach sand is a blessing in disguise for us west Aussies once it is amended. They are permanent changes and money very well spent. That mulch will smell sensational. It's going to make you want to be in the garden more. Spongolite is a tricky one to get now days. The mob selling it went bust. Maybe skip it and apply Rock Minerals instead after all is finished and rested. Great to hear you renovating and enjoying the changes. Re: Introduction and thanks for your help everyone so far 3Aug 02, 2012 12:45 pm Thanks Fu, I'll call them today. I actually popped into the woodvale fish and lily farm yesterday and they have 15kg bags of spongolite for $18. Zeolite 10kg bags for the same amount. The OP has gone The latch and striker are definitely not aligned but there was no point trying to help the OP understand that. Hence the reason they are no longer with us. 12 5564 Thanks mate.
