Re: Dog Friendly Synthetic Turf/Grass 2Jul 20, 2012 8:51 am With two staffies, you're probably better off getting real lawn, knowing staffies, they'll probably rip up and chew the synthetic grass! As long as the edges are secure, the dogs should be more interested in the retic pipe than the lawn :p I have often wondered what dogs actually think of synthetic grass. Please let us know what you end up with and how it goes. I get the feeling that synthetic grass is a bit taboo around here, it has its place especially when the only other alternative is paving. Its just taboo when its used as an alternative natural turf. Used as a hard surface alternative synthetic is fine, abeit its ugly, tacky and de-valuing, but none the less it is a option instead of paving or concrete. Re: Dog Friendly Synthetic Turf/Grass 5Jul 20, 2012 9:56 pm We have tried real lawn but the two (male) staffies won't 'lift their leg' at home and the grass just dies from urine burn. The area is very small (6m2) and we are looking for an alternative to paving from a comfort perspective as will mostly have full sun. They like to sun-bake (I am not kidding) - they lay on their backs in the sun and pavers just get too hot. Will let you know what we decide. Re: Dog Friendly Synthetic Turf/Grass 7Jul 22, 2012 8:21 pm Personally I'd hate to have dog poo sitting on synthetic grass! We use "Dog Rocks" with our dog to prevent urine burn on the grass, it worked really well. Just saw it a year later and it still looks amazing and they love it. so excellent idea for your Staffys in my opinion.
