If you get in now once their leaves have dropped they are cheaper for sure. Why are priates scary ? Because they yaargh.. Re: plant ID pls... 6Jun 12, 2012 9:20 pm I am pretty sure it is a Pyrus. could be calleryana but not sure from the picture. Re: plant ID pls... 7Jun 15, 2012 4:25 pm mattcaza is correct. they grow very wide and tall.... they are currently planted in and around the streets of parklea/stanhope gardens... on the council strips... and i think they are close to fully grown, if you wanted to get an idea of scale.. a beautiful looking tree... not sure if they are suitable for a backyard though. our street bay tree got damaged during our build, so we pulled it out and planted one of these. picked up a little baby one at bunnings seven hills for $25.00 Built the Havana 3 by McDonald Jones Homes Re: plant ID pls... 8Jun 17, 2012 10:28 pm Hi, it looks like what I have in my street and down my driveway. If it is it's Pyrus calleryana, or Chanticleer pear. It will grow to about 7 metres high and is quite narrow at only 5 metres max wide. This is the reason I planted them down the side of my driveway. In spring they have a lovely blossom and in Autumn they turn colours between golden yellow to the rich reds. After all the wind and rain this weekend mine are just about bare. 0 4764 |
