Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 25, 2012 10:06 am im nearing the process of getting a besser block reatining wall built in the backyard, would like to run some lighting in a few areas. what & how will i run the cable for the lights, im gunna get a sparky down the track to wire all this up, but i will need to run the cable before the wall is back filled. i'll be installing a standard wall mounted outdoor light, so do i get some cable & just run it thru condute, it will be about half a metre from ground level & the condute will be hard up against the inner side of the wall. any help with how to run these cables would be much apperciated. thanks Re: retaining wall lighting help 2Apr 25, 2012 5:47 pm You would normally install conduit with some sort of line through it - it can be anything at all, just so that you can attach the end of the cable to it later and pull it through. We used some spare line from our whipper-snipper, but strong string or fishing line would do the job. You could run some cable through it now if you prefer, but you don't need to. I suggest you use low-voltage lights/cable if the cable will be running through a garden bed. You don't want to pierce live 240V cable with a metal garden tool whilst planting or weeding down the track. Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that. I am in QLD, any recommendations on a construction lawyer would be helpful 3 2637 I'm curious, did they provide any reason why they did not like the idea? 1 14180 |
