Hi all,
I am looking at building a raised garden bed approx 2.9 x 1.6 wide x approx 600mm deep. Construction material I was looking at using was timber stud frame + blueboard + texture coat.
I have a lot of excess dirt I was intending on filling the garden beds with before applying decent soils etc, however was concerned about the strength of this type of garden bed?
I was intending on concreting the corner posts of the raised garden beds in the ground, and stud frame to be built approx 100mm below finished ground level? I am prob looking at over a ton of dirt inside the box'- will this construction be capable of holding all this in, or will this eventually expand and crack due to the large amounts of soil within the box? What are the best options here?
If anyone has any suggestions or if i need any engineering tips as such, would be appreciated.
Thanks.
