Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Mar 11, 2012 12:00 pm WE are going to have a few ugly areas once our house is built which I would like to screen with some type of wall/fence etc. Especially our shed which is going to be huge. I cant really find much on the net. Does anyone have any pics or suggestions for good websites to help with this? I dont really want brush fencing or the like. I did see a really good idea on this site - somebodys journey of their house build - I forgot who it was now but I did love it - looking for those sorts of ideas. Thanks in advance Re: Screening ideas? 2Mar 11, 2012 12:54 pm We constructed a blueboard wall/pergola off the Alfresco for privacy and a feeling of enclosure. The wall was painted with 'Dulux Medium Texture Paint' for a rendered effect. Thrilled with the result - pictures on blog including construction. This treatment could be used for screening a shed with garden in the foreground. If you dont mind my asking what was the total cost for the wall from start to finish. Thanks for your input ps might be a dum question but did you paint your fence that grey colour or was that the original color of the fence? cheers Re: Screening ideas? 4Mar 11, 2012 2:56 pm auds Hi Debra - love your wall - we have 2 of those balinese water features so we could definately do something along those lines. Obviously would have to find the right one that wont take over the whole street after a while Re: Screening ideas? 6Mar 11, 2012 5:56 pm H2H I did think of that but as you said dont want anything taking over the whole yard. We have quite a bit of fenceline to cover so I will need more than one to cover several areas. Debra thanks for that info - It looks great for that price - well done! Re: Screening ideas? 7Mar 12, 2012 6:32 pm We have a few screens around our yard to hide various things or act as features (rather than stare at the fence or the neighbour's roof). Most are DIY and are detailed in this thread: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=31647 I would say both styles you have pictured are steel. The lower chord of the first pic would be a massive lump if made using timber considering the size of the rafters.
