Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Aug 12, 2006 1:49 pm Hi everyone,
We are preparing to sell our house, have a large back yard and are on level 3 water restrictions, looking at level 4 in early October. That means we can only water with a bucket filled up from the tap at the moment, level 4 will mean no watering the garden at all. I have some areas I need to fill up with plants to make the garden more attractive for selling. Some have mostly shade, some mostly sun. Can someone help me with plants that are hardy without water but still attractive? Thanks for your helpl. Re: Water restrictions 2Sep 17, 2006 3:48 pm All Australian Natives are water wise plants.
You can even look at the latest trend in plants the Yucca, Dracaena’s, lots of colours in these. Not sure if this is still correct, but I thought you could apply for a temporary exclusion from water restrictions wehen moving into a newly built house, with a bare yard. Suggest you checl with your water company to see if this is still the case. It might be only for a couple of months, and still have some restrictions, but it is better than nothing. Also the is the tank option as well. My new house will have 2 x 2ooo litre tanks filling off the roof for the garden. Adrian B 18 90484 From what I know about water tanks (I've been working with a client on them for a few years now) is this - The concrete can last a lifetime if they don't crack for some… 2 10630 4 10822 |
