Hi Everybody,
Just what I hope will be a short question regarding the Songs of India plants we have around our pool.
The songs that look great around our pool were doing very very average until I went on a dynamic lifter, el cheapo mulch and watering frenzy for the last month or so.
Now they are absolutely booming, but the branches are very sparse lower down so I'm thinking of putting in smaller ones to fill in the sparseness.
As we have seriously run out of budget, I'm wondering if the songs of India would strike from cuttings of the prunings? Instead of having to buy more plants as they are hard to source and bloody expensive as well.
Do I need to use rooting powder (plant hormone , not the stuff from thailand) to help them strike roots?
Or do I just plunge the pruning into a pot and keep them moist?
Do I need to let the cut end dry out before plunging into the pot?
The songs are supposed to be slow growing plants but these are booming along now.
Do we have any horticultural orientated people out there?
Fu Manchu, any ideas??
Cheers Ddgy Roger
